Fərhad Tahirov (with the World Chess Federation FIDE Farhad Tahirov ; born April 12, 1987 ) is an Azerbaijani chess player .

Life

Fərhad Tahirov studied business administration at the Technical University of Berlin . He is the owner of a travel agency in Baku .

successes

Between July 2000 and January 2003, he managed to increase his Elo rating by more than 300 points to the Grandmaster level. During this time he played many rating tournaments in the Russian cities of Serpukhov , Moscow , Tula and Kursk . In 2001 he received the title International Master (IM), since November 2002 he has been Grand Master (GM). His Elo rating is 2452 (as of December 2014), but he is rated as inactive because he has not played a rated game since the 17th ZMD Open in Dresden in July 2008. His highest rating to date was 2583 from July 2003 to September 2005.

In club chess he was registered in Germany for the Lübecker SV and the chess friends of 1891 Friedberg . At Lübecker SV he played in the 2002/03 season with the sixth team in the Lübeck district league. In 2006 he played a few games in the Turkish league. In the Austrian 1st Bundesliga he was registered for ASVÖ Wulkaprodersdorf in the 2006/07 season , but was not used.
