(2002)

One Touch (German: A touch ) is the debut album by British girl band Sugababes , which at this time of Siobhán Donaghy , Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan was. It is the only album with founding member Siobhán Donaghy, which the group left in August 2001. The album reached the top 30 in the UK, where it was awarded gold, and the top 10 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Background information

The Sugababes were formed in 1998 by the manager of the All Saints, Ron Tom. At the age of 13, Mutya Buena and Siobhán Donaghy, who both had contracts as solo artists, decided to work together in the future after performing together. While recording in the studio, Buena invited her best friend Keisha Buchanan over. Ron Tom decided that the three should work as a trio from now on. He also helped them to a record deal with London Records within a very short time. All of the songs on the album were co-written by the Sugababes. Despite the gold award in Great Britain and good chart positions in Europe, sales of the album for London Records were unsatisfactory, so that the Sugababes were fired from the label in autumn 2001.

reception

The album was consistently received positively by the critics. It was also felt to be particularly positive that the girls, who at that time were only 15 or 16 years old, sang and wrote songs that were considered very mature for their age.
