Change ( German:, currency change ) is the fifth studio album of the British girl group Sugababes and the first album with new member Amelle Berrabah , the founding member Mutya Buena replaced.

Although the album could not build on the success of its predecessor Taller in More Ways internationally , it became the second number one album in a row in Great Britain, where it was also awarded platinum .

Background information

In early 2007 the Sugababes went back to the studio to work with American producers on their fifth studio album.

On August 30, 2007, the group performed on The Album Chart Show . There the first single About You Now premiered and the band confirmed the album title. At the same time, the Sugababes also presented the songs Denial and Change .

The French version is a greatest hits compilation because Overloaded: The Singles Collection was not published there. In addition to the original track list from Overloaded: The Singles Collection, it contains Change's three singles.

reception

Change was largely received positively. Matthias Reichel from cdstarts.de described the album as "a fine snack, served by the Champions League of Pop Producers":

“There are small surprises like the first single About You Now , which is not immediately recognizable as a typical Sugababes song - as it is on the album, for example. This is the case, for example, with Never Gonna Dance Again , Denial and Undignified - or with My Love Is Pink , which as an electrified dance track creates a good atmosphere. The Sugababes do not succeed in a style change, which the album title Change is supposed to suggest, but a modern, wholesome hit mix. "
