Berrabah attended the Academy of Contemporary Music at Guildford on a scholarship. It was then that she met her manager and formed the band Boo2 with her sister Samiya . The Sugababes manager became aware of her when he saw her performing on Boo2 . When founding member Mutya Buena left the Sugababes in late 2005, the manager of the band Berrabah called and told her that she had the opportunity to become part of the Sugababes. She recorded three songs, which were played to the remaining members, Keisha Buchanan and Heidi Range . A little later she was introduced as a new member of the Sugababes. Along with the Sugababes, she has had three top 10 albums so far, including a number 1 album ( Change ) as well as eight top 10 singles, two of which took number 1 ( Walk This Way , a collaboration with Girls Aloud , as well About You Now ). In September 2013 it was announced by bandmate Jade Ewen that the Sugababes had split up in 2011.

Solo artist

In 2009 her collaboration with rapper Tinchy Stryder , the song Never Leave You , immediately reached number 1 in the UK singles chart. This makes her the only member of the Sugababes whose solo project reached number 1 in the charts.

In early 2012 it was reported that she had started recording her first solo album. The song God Won't Save U Now , produced by Pete Kirtley, who worked with the Sugababes on their album Taller in More Ways and with Mutya Buena on their solo debut album Real Girl , and Sacha Collisson under their common stage name DBX , should be released in 2012. A publication was planned for September 2012, but was canceled for unknown reasons. At the end of 2012 she was featured on the single Ordinary Me by rapper Mr. Bigz on his mixtape The Bigz Bang Theory . On August 19, 2013, it released the single Love (Is All We Need) , a collaboration with DJ Adam J . In September 2014 she released another single called Summertime . In the same year she took part in the British gymnastics show Tumble , where she took 5th place. In summer 2016 the song Testify was released , a collaboration with the Norwegian artist K-Syran .

Personal life

Berrabah's parents are from Morocco . She has four sisters and one brother.

After it became known that Keisha Buchanan had left the Sugababes and the band was under massive pressure, she was admitted to a clinic in October 2009 and treated for three weeks because she suffered from severe nervous exhaustion.

On September 23, 2010, she was arrested on suspicion of being drunk driving after neighbors called the police. She was found guilty by a court of law and was banned from driving for 14 months and fined £ 2,000 . She was also sentenced again on September 2, 2011 for assaulting a person. She was released on condition that she pay her victim £ 250 in damages.

On November 3, 2014, she married Marcio Sousa Rosa, to whom she had become engaged six days earlier. The separation took place in November 2015.
