Tinchy Stryder (* 10. June 1987 in London , real name Kwasi Danquah ) is a British Grime - musicians .

Career

Tinchy Stryder is of Ghanaian descent and grew up in Bow, East End of London . He first appeared in the grime scene at the age of 16 and appeared on the Ice Rink EP in 2003 and the following year on the LP Treddin 'on Thin Ice by Wiley , one of the greats of the grime scene. Further appearances on The Streets and Lady Sovereign followed.

In 2006 he got his own record deal with Takeover Entertainment and released his first mixtapes , Tinchy Stryder had his first solo hit with Underground . His first album Star in the Hood followed the following year, followed by the EP Cloud 9 . In August 2008 he had his first smaller chart hit with the single Stryderman . A collaboration with Craig David on his single Where's Your Love brought him back to the charts.

Stryder's big breakthrough came in early 2009. His single Take Me Back together with Taio Cruz rose to number 3 in the UK charts in three weeks and stayed in the top 40 for 14 weeks. At the beginning of April, he opened with N-Dubz on tour. This resulted in the title Number 1 in collaboration . When it was released on April 20th, it went straight to number one on the UK charts.

Less than four months later he was able to repeat the same thing with Amelle Berrabah of the Sugababes . Their collaboration topped the chart in early August.

For some time now, Tinchy Stryder has also been selling his fashion label Star in the Hood online .

In 2014 he took part in the 14th season of the British television show I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! part.
