Cahangir Ağarəhimov (name at the World Chess Federation FIDE Djakhangir Agaragimov ; born December 5, 1986 in Azerbaijan ) is an Azerbaijani chess player .

Life

As a secondary school, Cahangir Ağarəhimov attended school 258 in Baku . He then studied in Baku at the Azerbaijan State Economic University . He trained chess together with Eltac Səfərli .

successes

Ağarəhimov has held the title of Grand Master since August 2014 . He achieved the standards for this at the Baku Open in August 2010, where he won against the grandmasters Natalja Schukowa and Dawit Dschodschua , among others , and at two double-round standards tournaments in Alushta in June 2013. He is one of the few chess players who qualify as FIDE champions skipped the title of International Master . Ağarəhimov is a member of the FIDE commission for the disabled, the “Commission for the Disabled (DIS)”.

His highest Elo rating is 2502, which he has had since February 2014. He is listed as inactive because he has not played a rated game since a tournament in Rustawi, Georgia in January 2014.

At the 2015 World Chess Cup in Baku he was Operating Director .
