George Konrad Crusius

George Konrad Crusius (also: Georgius Conradus Crusius ; * May 14, 1644 in Zutphen , † March 31, 1676 in Leiden ) was a Dutch legal scholar.

Life

The son of the preacher Bernhard Crusius was matriculated on May 11, 1659 at the University of Harderwijk . He continued his studies at the University of Utrecht , at Leiden University and the University of Franeker continued. After he had obtained his doctorate in law, he became a lecturer at the law faculty of the University of Leiden in 1669 and on December 15, 1670 professor of law. The basis of his calling was the writing Ex variis observationibus quae ad Jus Civile pertinent, diatribe I: ex Juliani Libro XXX Digestorum. De scriptura et sententia cap. XL. Si paterfamilias ... De heredibus instituendis (Leiden 1669).

As a university lecturer, he mainly devoted himself to the historia externa des Corpus iuris civilis . Lack of exercise and constant overexertion led to his untimely death. On the initiative of Gerhard Noodt , his legacy was published in the Dissertatio ad constitutionem Divi Marci, de Curatoribus minorum quinque et viginti annis (Leiden 1712). Johann Friedrich Böckelmann (1632–1681) gave his commemorative speech , which was published in 1676 in Leiden under the title Laudatio funebris viri clarissimi Georgii Conradi Crusii .
