Habib Galhia ( Arabic حبيب قلحية, DMG Ḥabīb Qalḥīya ; * May 14, 1941 in Kairouan ; † December 25, 2011 in Sousse ) was a Tunisian boxer .

biography

Habib Galhia competed in the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo as a welterweight . With victories over the Dutchman Wim Gerlach , Om Prasad Pun from Nepal and Félix Betancourt from Cuba, he reached the semifinals. There he was defeated by Yevgeny Frolov from the Soviet Union on points. Thus he was awarded the bronze medal. Four years later at the Olympic Games in Mexico City he appeared again, but he was eliminated in the first round against Adalberto Siebens .
