Coordinates: 62 ° 56 '  N , 17 ° 47'  O Kramfors is a municipality ( Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province Vasternorrlands Lan and the historic province Ångermanland . The main town is Kramfors .

The Höga Kusten area, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO , is largely located in this municipality. The main towns are Kramfors and Bollstabruk . The municipality of Kramfors has been led by the social democratic party Sveriges socialdemokratiska arbetareparti since the introduction of universal suffrage .

Högakustenbro

The Sandöbron bridge over the Ångermanälven , inaugurated in 1943, was the largest concrete bridge in the world without intermediate piers until 1964. Today it has lost its position to the 1,210 meter long Högakustenbron in the same municipality . The latter is the longest suspension bridge in Sweden.

In Vibyggerå is the 295 meter high Skuleberg ( Skuleberget ), from which you have an excellent view of the surrounding forest and the sea. On the mountain you can find traces of the sea coast from the epoch shortly after the Ice Age. At that time the coast was about 285 meters higher. In the mountain there is a legendary cave , in which robbers are said to have once lived. A song festival takes place every year under a rugged rock face.

The Mannaminne museum village is located in Nordingrå . Here you can see around 40 different houses that are dedicated to different topics.

On the banks of the Ångermanälven near the village of Prästmon, there is the medieval Styresholm castle , which was built by the Vitalienbrothers .
