The Sandöbrücke or Sandö Bridge ( Swedish Sandöbron ) is a reinforced concrete - arch bridge over the river Ångermanälven between Lunde and Sandö in Kramfors in the Swedish province County Västernorrland . The total height of the bridge is 42 m with a total length of 810 m. The maximum span of the bridge is 264 m, at the time of its completion the largest span of all concrete arch bridges.

The falsework was modeled after that of Eugène Freyssinet designed Pont de Plougastel made on shore and on barges been floated. During the construction work, the falsework collapsed on August 31, 1939, including the bridge that had been started, killing 18 workers. This accident received little press attention because World War II broke out the next day . The bridge was opened on June 16, 1943.

In 1997 the most important traffic connection was replaced by the Högakustenbrücke , a new bridge over the river as an extension of the E4 .
