Marcel Renault
Marcel Renault (born May 14, 1872 , † May 24, 1903 in Angoulême ) was a French automobile designer and racing driver .
Career
Together with his brothers Louis and Fernand Marcel Renault founded in 1898 , the automobile company Renault in Billancourt .
For advertising purposes, Louis and Marcel also took part in a number of car races. One of Marcel's greatest successes was his victory in the Paris – Vienna race in 1902 , in which he won in an inferior vehicle.
In 1903 Marcel started in the Paris – Madrid race . The race turned into a disaster - along with seven other people, Marcel Renault also died in an accident. The race was abandoned in Bordeaux and the days of big city-to-city races were over.
