Agnes Sophie Countess and Mistress zu Plauen (born Countess von Promnitz ; * May 14, 1720 in Sorau , Niederlausitz , Electorate of Saxony ; † August 2, 1791 in Herrnhut , Upper Lusatia , Electorate of Saxony) was the owner of numerous estates in Upper and Lower Lusatia and Member of the Moravian Brethren .

Life

Agnes Sophie was the youngest child of Count Erdmann II von Promnitz from his first marriage to Anna Maria von Sachsen-Weißenfels. After her father's death, she moved to Ebersdorf in the Vogtland in 1745 and married Count Heinrich XXVIII two years later . Reuss to Ebersdorf in Berthelsdorf . With this she moved to Herrnhut and Barby , where both were actively involved in the Brethren. Agnes Sophie accompanied her husband on trips to Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France and England. In 1764 she expressed her disappointment at her relegation as a woman after structural changes in the organization.

In 1765 she received part of her brother Johann Erdmann's possessions . In the following years she acquired other goods. Agnes Sophie Reuss died in Herrnhut, where she was buried in the church . Since she had no offspring, her husband inherited her possessions. Agnes Sophie, the last member of the count's line of the von Promnitz family, died .
