The nature reserve Schafbachtal with its side valleys and Hohnerter Feld lies in the area of the town Schleiden in the district of Euskirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The area, which consists of three sub-areas, extends west of the core town of Schleiden along the Schafbach . The B 258 runs through the area and the L 207 state road runs to the west .

For Schleiden, a 141.55 hectare area has been designated as a nature reserve under the identification number EU-051 since 1994 .
