Eschweiler Valley and Kalkkuppen

The nature reserve Eschweiler Tal and Kalkkuppen is located in the area of the city of Bad Münstereifel in the Euskirchen district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The area extends southwest of the core town of Bad Münstereifel and southeast of Harzheim . The state road L 206 runs to the east and the Wespelbach flows , while the A 1 runs to the west .

For Bad Münstereifel, a 636.11 hectare area has been designated as a nature reserve under the identification number EU-005 since 1969 . The protection is given because of the importance of a large part of the area for the establishment of a coherent ecological network of special protected areas in Europe.
