The nature reserve Nonnenbachtal and side valleys with Froschberg and Gillenberg is located in the area of the municipality of Blankenheim (Ahr) in the district of Euskirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The area, which consists of five sub-areas, extends south and south-west of the core town of Blankenheim and north of the Blankenheim district of Nonnenbach along the Nonnenbach and its side valleys. The B 258 runs along the eastern edge, and the B 51 runs not far to the west .
meaning
A 291.36 hectare area has been designated as a nature reserve for Blankenheim since 1980 under the identification number EU-015. The protection is given in particular because of the importance of a large part of the area for the establishment of a coherent ecological network of special protection areas in Europe.
