The Obere Ahr nature reserve with the Mülheimer Bach, Reetzer Bach and Mühlenbachsystem is located in the municipality of Blankenheim (Ahr) in the Euskirchen district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The area, which consists of 35 sub-areas, extends largely southeast of the core town of Blankenheim along the Ahr and the B 258 in the western part and along the state road L 115 in the eastern part.

meaning

Since 2003, a 666.58 hectare area has been designated as a nature reserve for Blankenheim under the identification number EU-095. The protection is given because of the importance of a large part of the area for the establishment of a coherent ecological network of special protected areas in Europe.
