The Urfttal nature reserve with side valleys south of Nettersheim is located in the area of the municipality of Nettersheim in the Euskirchen district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The area, which consists of three sub-areas, extends south of the core town of Nettersheim and north of Blankenheimerdorf along the Urft with side valleys. The state road L 205 runs to the northwest, the L 204 to the west and the B 258 / B 51 to the south .

For Nettersheim, an area of 61.03 hectares has been designated as a nature reserve under the identification number EU-021 since 1984 . The area was placed under protection in order to preserve the habitat for many animal and plant species endangered on the Red List in North Rhine-Westphalia .
