The Schleifbachtal nature reserve south-west of Nettersheim is in the area of the municipality of Nettersheim in the Euskirchen district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The area extends southwest of the core town of Nettersheim along the Schleifbach, which flows into the Urft, which flows not far to the east. State road L 205 runs to the northwest .

For Nettersheim, a 31.60 hectare area has been designated as a nature reserve under the identification number EU-033 since 1990 . The area was placed under protection in order to preserve the habitat for many animal and plant species endangered according to the Red List in North Rhine-Westphalia .
