The nature reserve Unteres Steinbachtal is located in the area of the city of Euskirchen in the district of Euskirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The area extends southeast of the core city of Euskirchen and the Euskirchen district of Kirchheim along the Steinbach . On the northeastern edge which runs the country road L 210, southwest extends the 14.6 hectares large Steinbachtalsperre .

For Euskirchen, an area of 15.02 hectares has been designated as a nature reserve under the identification number EU-155 since 2007. The protection is placed to preserve and optimize biotopes worthy of protection .
