The Friesheimer Busch nature reserve is located in the area of ​​the city of Erftstadt in the Rhein-Erft district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The area extends northeast of Friesheim , a district of Erftstadt, and west of the core town of the community of Weilerswist in the Euskirchen district . The state road L 33 runs along the southern edge and the A 1 runs to the east and flows the Erft .

meaning

Since 1983, an area of ​​87.01 hectares has been designated as a nature reserve for Erftstadt under the identification number BM-007. It is protected because of its floristic , vegetation and ornithological importance. Because of the district boundary running through the forest, another 7 hectares in Weilerswist are designated as a second nature reserve of the same name (identification number EU-123).
