The nature reserve Kiesgrube Steinheide is located in the area of the city of Kerpen in the Rhein-Erft district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The area extends northwest of the core city of Kerpen and northeast of Manheim , a district of Kerpen. West passes the circuit road 53 and the southeast A 4 . The 287.1 hectare nature reserve Bürgewald Steinheide extends directly to the east .
meaning
A 17.83 hectare area has been designated as a nature reserve for Kerpen since 1993 under the identification number BM-027. The protection is provided for the conservation and development of habitats for animal and plant species.
