Vlattener Bach between Merzenich and Lövenich

The Vlattener Bach nature reserve between Merzenich and Lövenich is located in the area of the city of Zülpich in the Euskirchen district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The area, which consists of two sub-areas, extends south of the core town of Zülpich, northeast of Merzenich and west and southwest of Lövenich along the Vlattener Bach . Through the area through which runs B 477 , near the north is about 85 ha large Zuelpicher lake .
meaning
For Zülpich, an area of 22.79 hectares has been designated as a nature reserve under the identification number EU-173 since 2008. The area was placed under protection in order to preserve the habitat for many species of animals and plants that are threatened, endangered and rare according to the Red List in North Rhine-Westphalia .
