Blankenheimerdorf is a district of the municipality Blankenheim (Ahr) in the district of Euskirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia .

location

The village lies on a ridge that forms the watershed between the Ahr and Urft . Blankenheim-Wald lies west of Blankenheimerdorf . The federal highway 51 runs between the two places . District roads 69 and 70 meet in the village . Passenger traffic on the Ahrdorf – Blankenheim line ended in 1958 and was dismantled by 1980.

history

A Roman road led directly through today's Blankenheimerdorf district. Roman masonry was found in the place. At the time of the Franks , Blankenheimerdorf was the royal court . Here already has Charlemagne hunted.

Before the castle was built on the hilltop above the source of the Ahr, today's place was called Blankenheim . After its completion, a new place called itself "Blankenheim" was formed below the castle, while the old "Blankenheim" was given the addition "- (er) dorf".

On July 1, 1969, Blankenheimerdorf was incorporated into Blankenheim.
