Lindweiler is the northernmost part of the municipality of Blankenheim (Ahr) in the Euskirchen district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The place is directly east of the neighboring district of Rohr . Lindweiler has no through traffic. The district road 79 ends behind the village. The Armutsbach and the Wellbach flow through the village.

Not far from the town there was a launch pad for the so-called V 1 in 1944/45 . The missiles were aimed at Brussels , Liege and Antwerp .

history

Lindweiler belonged territorially and ecclesially to Rohr and therefore shares its regional history.

On July 1, 1969, Lindweiler was incorporated into Blankenheim.

Attractions

From the former eponymous castle no traces are present since the construction of today's courtyard in the 1846th One of the lime kilns that operated in the Rohrer Kalkmulde was put back into operation in 1988 as an industrial monument .
