Location of Dollendorf in North Rhine-Westphalia

Dollendorf is a district of the municipality Blankenheim in the district of Euskirchen , North Rhine-Westphalia . The place gives its name to the limestone basin that surrounds it , which is one of the most important rural areas in Rhineland-Palatinate because of its biodiversity and flora and fauna. The Kalkeifel takes its name from the middle Devonian limestone and dolomites sunk into the Lower Devonian slate mountain base. The limestone areas also appear orographically as depressions and ridges and overall have a more vivid relief than the surrounding Eifel region. The "Dollendorfer Kalkmulde" conservation area has a size of 2,531 hectares.
