Savas Karipidis ( Greek Σάββας Καρυπίδης ; * May 23, 1979 in Katerini , Greece ) is a former Greek national handball player .

Career

After playing for AS Filippos Verias, he moved to the Kadetten Schaffhausen for half a year in January 2005 . For the 2005/06 season he moved to HSG Wetzlar , for which he was active for two years. From 2007 to 2013 he played for MT Melsungen . He then signed a contract with the Greek club AEK Athens . In 2014 he won the Greek Cup. For the 2015/16 season he returned to AS Filippos Verias.

With the Greek national team he took part in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and scored 34 goals in eight games. He has played over 200 international matches so far.
