Jerzy Klempel
Jerzy Klempel (born April 23, 1953 in Międzylesie , † May 28, 2004 in Wroclaw ) was a Polish handball player. He worked as a trainer and manager of the Polish club Śląsk Wrocław and is considered one of the best Polish handball players of the 20th century. His playing position was on the right backcourt .
Jerzy Klempel set a record for the single-track 1st Bundesliga on June 4, 1983 at 27:28 with Frisch Auf Göppingen against TuS Hofweier with 19 goals in one game. He also achieved the record for the most field goals in a game with 16 goals. The German handball player Stefan Schröder was only able to outbid these brands 26 years later on June 6, 2009 with 21 goals or 18 field goals.
With the Polish national team , he participated in the Olympics in 1976 , where he led the bronze medal won, and in 1980 in part.
