Volker "Mu" Mudrow (born June 30, 1969 in Bortfeld ) is a former German handball player and current trainer . In the handball Bundesliga , he last trained Eintracht Hildesheim .

Career

For the German national team , Volker Mudrow played 19 international matches, in which he scored 21 goals. He finished 6th with the national team at the 1993 World Cup .

After Volker Mudrow had to end his active career after a serious knee injury, he took over the vacant coaching position at MTV Braunschweig in 1998 . In November 2001, he took over as the youngest Bundesliga coach in the history of the DHB for the remaining 24 games of the season at the Bundesliga club SG VfL / BHW Hameln .

In 2002 he became a trainer at TBV Lemgo . With the TBV he won the German championship in 2003 and the EHF Cup in 2006 .

In January 2007 Mudrow was on leave after 2:12 points in the Bundesliga and elimination in the EHF Cup at TBV. In February 2007 he took over the sporting management at HSG Wetzlar . His contract was terminated early in January 2009 by the club at the end of the 2008/2009 season, only a little later, in April 2009, his contract in Wetzlar was terminated with immediate effect despite the agreed separation at the end of the season.

From September 10, 2009, Mudrow was employed by TBV Lemgo as the successor to the coach Markus Baur, who was on leave , and won the EHF Cup with the TBV in the same season. For the 2011/12 season he moved to the newly promoted Eintracht Hildesheim. There he was released on January 11, 2012. In December 2013 he returned as a trainer to his former club MTV Braunschweig, which had meanwhile been relegated to the association league. In the 2014/15 season Mudrow was able to celebrate the return to the league with MTV . In 2015/16 he was promoted to the 3rd division .
