Nicolas Raemy (born February 25, 1992 in Zug ) is a Swiss handball player . Raemy is mostly used on the right backcourt , but can also play on the right wing .
Career
society
The 1.88 m tall and 91 kg heavy left-hander began playing handball at the Swiss club BSV Borba Luzern. In 2010 he moved from the SG Pilatus Handball project in Lucerne to HC Kriens-Luzern , with whom he made his debut in the Swiss NLA . In the 2010/11 season he was third in the National League and qualified for an international competition for the first time. In the EHF Challenge Cup 2011/12 he scored 22 goals and reached the quarter-finals. He has been playing for league rivals Wacker Thun since the 2014/15 season , where he signed a three-year contract. With Wacker Thun, he won the Swiss championship in 2018 and the SHV Cup in 2019 .
National team
Nicolas Raemy was on the Swiss junior selection team for the U-19 European Open 2011, where he won bronze, scored 31 goals and was voted Most Valuable Player . In the same year he scored 53 goals in seven games at the U-19 World Cup (6th place), making him fourth on the scorer list. At the U-20 European Championship in 2012, he was one of the top ten goalscorers of the tournament with 43 goals and came in 6th with his team.
In the Swiss national team , Raemy made his debut on October 27, 2010 against Russia . So far, he has played 61 international matches in which he scored 180 goals. In the "national team" he wears the shirt number 15.
In 2019, Raemy became the US champion with the San Francisco CalHeat THC .
