Marcel Hess
Marcel Hess (born November 16, 1982 in Aarau ) is a former Swiss handball player .
The 1.90 m tall and 94 kg heavy right-handed man was mostly used on the left wing . Marcel Hess started playing handball at the Swiss club HR Hochdorf.
From 1999 he played for the TV Suhr in the NLA , with which he became champion in 2001. Internationally, he reached the quarter-finals of the 2001/02 EHF Challenge Cup with Suhr . In 2006 he moved to GC Amicitia Zurich , with whom he became champions in 2008 and 2009 and cup winner in 2009. In the 2008/09 European Cup Winners' Cup , he reached the semi-finals. From 2010 he ran for Pfadi Winterthur . In 2014/15 he was Most Valuable Player and was then one of three nominated athletes for the Winterthur Athlete of the Year award, but the award went to BMX rider David Graf . He ended his career after the 2017/18 season.
With 1777 goals in 536 games, Marcel Hess is ranked 9th in the NLA's all-time goalscorer list. (As of July 2018)
In the Swiss national team , he made his debut on December 19, 2003 against Luxembourg and played 112 international matches in which he scored 155 goals.
