Andreas Merz (born November 24, 1985 in Beinwil am See ) is a Swiss handball player .

The 1.88 m tall and 82 kg heavy goalkeeper began his career at the Swiss club TV Suhr , with whom he played in the EHF Challenge Cup 2002/03 and the European Cup Winners' Cup 2007/08. He has been with Wacker Thun since 2010 . In 2012 he won the Swiss Cup and in 2013 the championship and cup. With Thun he also reached the final in the EHF Challenge Cup 2011/12 , the 2nd round in the EHF Cup 2012/13 and the group stage of the EHF Champions League 2013/14 . In the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons, Merz received the Swiss Handball Award as the best NLA goalkeeper .

Andreas Merz made his debut in the Swiss national team on December 20, 2006 against Egypt . So far, he has played 40 international matches . (As of February 26, 2014)
