Martin Engeler

Martin Engeler (born January 12, 1982 in Basel ) is a Swiss handball player .

Martin Engeler plays for TSV St. Otmar St. Gallen . His position is back left. He started his handball career at BSC Goldach before moving to St. Otmar via Kadetten Schaffhausen . In St. Gallen he was U21 Swiss champion in the 2001/2002 season. He made his debut in the 1999/2000 season in the first team of the traditional St. Gallen club. In the 2000/2001 season he was a member of the Swiss champions and cup winners team. In the 2004/2005 season he reached the European Cup semi-finals.

Martin Engeler has played 38 international matches for Switzerland and scored 97 goals (as of 06/2010). He is no longer a member of the current national team.

He received his doctorate from the University of St. Gallen in 2013 .
