Heidi Marie Tjugum (born September 5, 1973 in Drammen , Norway ) is a former Norwegian handball player .

Life

Tjugum started playing handball at Åssiden IF when he was ten. After the goalkeeper was active for Glassverket IF , she moved to Bækkelagets SK , with whom she won the Norwegian championship in 1997. Between 1997 and 2003 she was between the posts of the Danish club Viborg HK . With the VHK she won the championship in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002 and in 1999 she won the EHF Cup . From 2003 she played again in her home country at Nordstrand IF .

In the summer of 2005 Tjugum interrupted her active career and worked in the 2005/06 season at Gjøvik og Vardal HK as a goalkeeper coach. In April 2007 she was reactivated by the German club HC Leipzig for the Final Four of the DHB Cup , which the HCL won. From summer 2007 she was again active in the Norwegian league with Storhamar Håndball . In January she interrupted her career due to pregnancy. In August 2009, Tjugum gave birth to a daughter. In March 2010 she returned to the goal of Storhamar until the end of the season. She gave birth to a son in November 2011. She has been the goalkeeping coach of the Norwegian national youth team since 2014. She is now the team manager of the Norwegian men's national team.

Tjugum completed 175 games for the Norwegian national handball team . With the Norwegian selection, she won the 1999 World Cup and the 1997 World Cup runner-up . In addition, she triumphed with Norway at the 1998 European Championship and won the European runner-up in 1996 and 2002 . At the Olympic Games she won the silver medal in 1992 and the bronze medal in 2000 .
