Gnonsiane Niombla (born July 9, 1990 in Villeurbanne , France ) is a French handball player who belongs to the squad of the French national team.
Career
Gnonsiane Niombla initially played for ASUL Vaulx-en-Velin, with whom she won the championship in Nationale 1, the third highest French division, in 2010. In the same year, the backcourt player moved to the French first division club CJF Fleury Loiret Handball . Niombla won the French championship with Fleury in 2015, the French League Cup in 2015 and 2016 and the French Cup in 2014. Furthermore, she was in the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2015 . From summer 2016 she ran for the Romanian first division club CSM Bucharest . With Bucharest she won both the Romanian championship and the Romanian cup in 2017 and 2018. In the summer of 2018 she joined the French club Metz Handball . With Metz, she won the French championship and the French cup in 2019. She has been playing for the Hungarian club Siófok KC since the 2019/20 season .
Niombla made her international debut for the French national team on March 20, 2013. After taking part in the 2013 World Cup , the 2014 European Championship and the 2015 World Cup with France , she won the silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . She won the bronze medal at the 2016 European Championships . A year later she won the gold medal at the World Cup in Germany . At the European Championships in 2018 , she won the gold medal in her own country.
