LTV7 is a Latvian television broadcaster owned by the public television company Latvijas Televīzija (LTV).

LTV7 was launched on January 1, 2003 as the successor to LTV2. Although the name is LTV7, it is LTV's second program. The “7” in the name stands for the seven days of the week and fits the former slogan “Everyday is a day off”. Today this slogan is no longer used.

The station originally started with a focus on a younger target group with sports and music broadcasts. Over time, however, the orientation of the station has changed. Many science films, documentaries, series and films are shown in Latvian today. In addition, many programs are taken over by Deutsche Welle and provided with Latvian subtitles, such as the lifestyle program euromaxx .

In addition, since 2014 there has been a very large focus on programs for the Russian-speaking minority in Latvia. There are daily updated magazines and news in Russian produced by LTV.

All LTV7 programs can be viewed free of charge via the LSM Replay streaming service. Within Latvia, LTV7 can also be viewed as a live stream via LSM Replay.

Program window for Russian-speaking minority

The offer for the Russian-speaking minority, "Русское вещание LTV7" ("Russian programs on LTV7") has been steadily expanded. Until September 2014 there was only the news program "LTV Novosti", a Russian version of the Latvian-language news program "LTV Panorama". Today there is a whole series of programs in Russian, which are broadcast daily from 5 p.m. for approx. 3 hours on LTV7.

LTV produces these programs for the Russian-speaking minority in Latvia:

  • Жизнь сегодня : "Life today"
  • Сегодня вечером : "Tonight"
  • Точки над i : "The point on the i"
  • Без обид : "No offense"
  • Личное дело : "private matter "
  • Актуальный вопрос : "Current problem"
  • Сегодня утром : "This morning"
  • Лаборатория чудес : "Laboratory of Miracles"
