Veronica Egebakken Kristiansen (born July 10, 1990 in Egersund , Norway ) is a Norwegian handball player who belongs to the squad of the Norwegian national team.

Career

society

Veronica Kristiansen started playing handball in Mjøndalen and then played for Reistad IL. Her next stop was Våg Vipers , for whom she played for the first time in the Postenligaen, the highest Norwegian league, in the 2009/10 season. In 2011 the back player joined the Norwegian second division team Glassverket IF . In the following season Kristiansen scored 203 hits and rose to the Postligaen with Glassverket. In the 2013/14 season she finished second in the Postligaen scorers list with 140 goals. From the summer of 2015 she played for the Danish first division club FC Midtjylland Håndbold . With Midtjylland she won the Danish Cup in 2015. She has been under contract with the top Hungarian club Győri ETO KC since summer 2018 . With Győr she won the Hungarian Championship, the Hungarian Cup and the EHF Champions League in 2019 .

National team

Veronica Kristiansen initially played 14 internationals for the Norwegian U18 national team and 30 games for the U20 national team. In 2010 she won the U20 World Cup . On March 20, 2013, she played her first international match for the Norwegian senior team . With Norway, she took part in the 2013 World Cup, where she scored six goals in seven games. In 2014 Kristiansen won the final of the European Championship with Norway . A year later she won the world championship . She won the bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . In 2016 she won the European Championship for the second time. A year later she won the silver medal at the World Cup in Germany .

Her sisters Charlotte Kristiansen and Jeanett Kristiansen play in the top Norwegian league.
