Dragana Cvijić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Драгана Цвијић ; born March 15, 1990 in Belgrade ) is a Serbian handball player who belongs to the squad of the Serbian national team.

Career

In the club

Dragana Cvijić began playing handball at ŽRK Radnički Obrenovca in 2000. The next stop of the circuit was the Serbian club Red Star Belgrade . After Cvijić ran up there in the women's team, she moved to the Slovenian first division club RK Krim in 2009 . In her first season with Crimea, she won both the Slovenian Championship and the Slovenian Cup. The following season, Cvijić won the national double again, but had to pause the entire season due to a knee injury. In the summer of 2011 she took the Montenegrin top club ŽRK Budućnost Podgorica under contract.

In her first season in Podgorica, the Serbian won the Montenegrin Championship, the Montenegrin Cup and the EHF Champions League . Then Cvijić injured his knee again and only returned to the squad of her team in the second half of the 2012/13 season. In the seasons 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16 and 2016/17 she won the championship and the Montenegrin Cup. In 2015 she won the EHF Champions League for the second time. In the 2017/18 season she was under contract with the Macedonian club ŽRK Vardar SCBT . With Vardar, she won the Macedonian Championship and the Macedonian Cup in 2018. She then moved to the Romanian first division club CSM Bucharest . With Bucharest she won the Romanian Cup in 2019.

In the national team

Dragana Cvijić initially played for the Serbian junior national team, for which she u. a. at the U19 European Championship 2009 in Hungary . With the Serbian national team she took part in the 2008 European Championship at the age of 18 . After Cvijić missed several tournaments due to her knee injuries, she was back at the 2013 World Cup in the Serbian squad at a major tournament. There the Serbian won the silver medal and was still elected to the Allstar team.
