Sakura Hauge (born January 7, 1987 in Bergen ), also known as Sakura Kametani ( Japanese 亀 谷 さ く ら , Kametani Sakura ), is a Norwegian - Japanese handball player .

Life

Sakura Hauge initially played for Gneist, Stabæk and Nordstrand IF . After guarding the goal of Tertnes IL for seven seasons , she joined Vipers Kristiansand in 2014 . With the Vipers she won the Norgesmesterskap, the Norwegian cup competition, in 2017. She also won the Norwegian championship with Kristiansand in 2018. In the summer of 2018 she joined the Danish club Nykøbing Falster Håndboldklub . With Nykøbing Falster she won the Danish Cup in 2018. A year later she moved to the French first division club Entente Sportive Bisontine Féminin .

Hauge appeared 8 times for the Norwegian youth national team and 14 times for the Norwegian junior national team. She was also used twice in the Norwegian B national team. In 2015, Hauge decided to go to Japan, her mother's country of birth. She plays for the Japanese selection under the name Kametani, the maiden name of her mother. With Japan she took part in the 2015 World Cup and 2017 World Cup.
