Tertnes IL
Tertnes Idrettslag is a Norwegian sports club that was founded on January 25, 1953. Initially, the range of sports on offer consisted of soccer , handball and athletics . Nowadays there are also the gymnastics and alpine skiing departments .
Handball
The women's handball team has been playing in the Eliteserien, the highest Norwegian league, since the 1993/94 season. In the 1998/99 season Tertnes took part in the European Cup for the first time, and at the same time reached the semifinals of the EHF Cup . A season later, they again took part in the EHF Cup and moved into the final, where however the Spanish team El Ferrobus Mislata was inferior. In the 2001/02 season Tertnes reached the final of the Norwegian championship, but lost this 18:21 against Nordstrand IF .
