Mats Fransson

Mats Bertil Fransson (born June 1, 1962 in Lysekil ) is a Swedish handball coach and former handball player .

The 1.87 m tall handball goalkeeper played for GF Kroppskultur, Lysekils HK and Irsta HF in Sweden and from 2002 at Sandefjord TIF and from 2005 at Runar IL Sandefjord in Norway. From 2007 he worked as a player coach at HK Herulf in Moss . Fransson has coached the women's team of the Norwegian club Fredrikstad BK since 2012.

In the Swedish national team Mats Fransson made his debut in 1984. At the Olympic Games in 1988 he finished fifth. At the 1990 World Cup he was the third goalkeeper behind Mats Olsson and Tomas Svensson and became world champion. By 1999 he played 95 internationals .
