- Latin America and Africa: 8 men and 6 women each
- North America and Africa: 2 men and 1 woman each
Competition mode
In the individual, eight groups with eight participants each were formed for the men and eight groups with six players each for the women. In a group everyone played against everyone, the first two made it to the round of 16. Here it went on in the knockout system.
Similarly, groups of eight were formed in the double competitions: four for the men, with the first two progressing, two for the women, where the first four made it to the quarter-finals. Three sets of wins were played in the singles and two sets in the doubles.
