Jiao Zhimin

Jiao Zhimin ( Chinese  焦志敏 ; * December 1, 1963 ) is a Chinese table tennis player who won bronze in women's singles and silver in doubles at the 1988 Olympic Games.

International success

Jiao Zhimin was nominated for the 1985 and 1987 World Championships . At the 1985 World Cup, she reached the semi-finals in both women's doubles with Guan Jianhua and mixed with Fan Changmao . Two years later she failed again in doubles - this time with He Zhili - in the semi-finals. On the other hand, she got into the final in a mixed with Jiang Jialiang , which was lost to Hui Jun / Geng Lijuan (China). With the Chinese team she became world champion in 1987.

At the Summer Olympics in Seoul in 1988, she won the bronze medal behind Chen Jing and Li Huifen , where she failed in the semifinals. In doubles with Chen Jing , she finished second, as she lost in the final against the Koreans Jung Hwa Hyun / Yang Young-ja .

In 1989, Jiao Zhimin ended her active career.

family

In 1989 Jiao Zhimin went to Switzerland to study. In the same year she married the South Korean table tennis player Ahn Jae-Hyung in Sweden , whom she met in 1984 and who won bronze in doubles at the 1988 Olympics. Their son An Byeong-Hu (born September 17, 1991) devoted himself to the game of golf. In 2009 he was the youngest player to win the American golf championship for amateurs.
