Katja Nolten

Katja Nolten (born February 16, 1970 in Heinsberg ) is a former German table tennis player . She was three-time vice European youth champion.

In 1982 Katja Nolten took part in the European Schools Championship. At European Youth Championships she came into the final three times: 1984 (against Otilia Bădescu (ROM)) and 1987 (against Irina Palina (URS)) in singles and 1985 in doubles with Olga Nemes .

Katja Nolten won the German student championship in singles in 1984, doubles in 1983 (with Cornelia Reckziegel) and 1984 (with Cornelia Faltermaier ) and in mixed 1983 and 1984 (both with Ralf Dooley). At the national youth championships she won the title in 1984, 1986 and 1987 in singles and in 1987 in doubles Christiane Praedel .

In 1990 she became German junior champion in singles and doubles (with Olga Nemes ).

Adults

In 1985 Katja Nolten became German runner-up in singles (behind Susanne Wenzel ) and doubles (with Margit Freiberg ). With Steffen Fetzner , she won the German Mixed Championship in 1987. In 1987 and 1988 she was first in the national ranking tournament DTTB-TOP-12 . She won the German team championship five times: 1984 and 1988 with DSC Kaiserberg , 1990, 1991 and 1992 with Spvg Steinhagen .

Between 1984 and 1990 Katja Nolten was invited to the national team 52 times. She competed three times each at world championships ( 1985 , 1987 , 1989 ) and at European championships (1986, 1988, 1990). At the European Championship in 1988 she won bronze with the German team. She also represented Germany at the 1988 Olympic Games . Then she ended competitive sports in favor of a degree in education.
