Christiane Praedel (born October 31, 1971 in Lingen ) is a German table tennis player . She won the German championship in singles and doubles.

At the age of 12, she joined the SV Bawinkel club in 1982. In 1984 she switched to TuS Glane . Here she still plays today (September 2006), interrupted by an interlude at TSG Dülmen in 1991/92. With Glane she played in the 1st Bundesliga and today in the 2nd Bundesliga. In 1993 she won the ETTU-Nancy-Evans Cup with the club .

National successes

Youth and junior competitions

At the European Championships in 1988 in Novi Sad, Praedel won the double competition with the Hungarian Veronika Wirth, with the girls' team she reached 3rd place. In 1989 she was second in mixed together with Torben Wosik .

At the German youth championships in 1987 she won doubles with Katja Nolten and took second place in both doubles in 1988 (with Elke Daub) and singles in 1989.

In 1991 she won the TOP-12 national ranking tournament . In 1992 she took second place in the German junior championship and first place in doubles (with Sandra Nienhaus).

Adults

Praedel took part in the national German championship several times . In 1991 she finished fourth in the singles. In 1992 she won the singles title in Rostock by beating Nicole Struse in the final and thus became German champion. A year later she won the doubles title in Münster together with Christina Fischer . This double took third place in 1995 and 1996.

In the national ranking tournament she won in 1991 and finished in 1992 the 2nd place.

In 1992 she was player of the year in the DTTB . In 1995 she ended her career as a competitive athlete for health reasons.

International success

Between 1990 and 1994 Praedel completed 14 international matches. She took part three times in the individual competitions at table tennis world championships, namely World Cup 1989 in Dortmund, World Cup 1991 in Chiba and World Cup 1993 in Gothenburg.

In two-time participation in European championships , she reached the second round in the individual in 1992 after a surprising victory against defending champion Daniela Gergeltschewa and in 1994 the silver medal with the women's team.

In 1994 she won the European league with the German women's team.

trainer

Praedel works as a player trainer at TuS Glane and since January 1, 2006 as regional trainer for TTV Lower Saxony . Her main area of ​​responsibility is the training and supervision of the boarding athletes.

Private

Praedel learned to be a bank clerk.
