Christina Fischer

Christina Fischer (born September 29, 1973 in Viechtach ) is a former German table tennis player . She won the German championship in singles and twice the European team championship .

Success in youth

In 1988 Fischer won the German youth team championship with her home club TV Viechtach. In 1990 and 1991 she became German junior champion in doubles together with Elke Schall , in 1992 she won the individual competition of the German junior championship. She has already gained international experience: in 1992 she won silver at the European Championships in Granada with the German girls' team. In 1993 she became German junior champion.

National successes

Fischer won the German doubles championship twice , in 1993 in Münster with Christiane Praedel and in 1999 in Augsburg with Olga Nemes . In 2001 she won the singles title in Böblingen, and in 2004 in Stadtallendorf in mixed with Nico Christ .

She took part in the national TOP16 / TOP12 tournaments several times . Here she was in 3rd place in 1998, 2nd in 2001, 2002 and 2005, and 1st in 2004.

In 2005, she was ranked 7th in the German ranking. At the German championship in Koblenz in 2002, she corrected a wrong decision by the referee to her disadvantage. Because of this fair behavior, she was awarded the Fairness Prize of the Swaythling Club International .

International success

Between 1992 and 1999, Fischer was appointed to the national team 42 times. In 1999, she decided not to participate in the World Cup and other national team appearances in favor of her professional training, especially since the naturalization of Jie Schöpp , Qianhong Gotsch and Jing Tian-Zörner made the competition seem overwhelming.

Four times she participated in the European Championships in part, for the first time in 1992 in the Individual competitions: The women's team won in 1994 silver and 1996 and 1998 gold. She was twice in the squad for world championships: at the 1995 World Cup , she finished 6th with the women's team , and bronze at the 1997 World Cup .

In the European Ladies Team Cup she reached first place in 1994 and 1995 with the German team.

Fischer played for the clubs TV Viechtach (until 1989), DJK SB Regensburg (until 1990), TSV Röthenbach (1990-1992; Regionalliga, 2nd BL), FC Langweid (1992-1997), VfB Team Galaxis Lübeck (1997-2000 ), 3B Berlin (2000–2002), TTC Femont Röthenbach (2002–2003), 3B Berlin (2003–2004), FSV Kroppach (2004–2007) and TTC Langweid (from 2007) in the table tennis Bundesliga . She lived with her partner Anders Johansson in Ochsenhausen.

With FC Langweid she won the ETTU Nancy Evans Cup in 1995 and 1996 . She won the European Cup in 1997 with FC Langweid and in 1998 with "Team Galaxis Lübeck". She was German team champion in 1996 with FC Langweid and in 1998 with Lübeck. She played in Kroppach until 2007, after which she moved to TTC Langweid in the 2nd Bundesliga.

Private

Her sister Sabine (* 1976) reached the 2nd Bundesliga level.
