Nico Christ (born October 30, 1981 in Tübingen ) is a German table tennis player . He is German champion in doubles and mixed.

Since 2005 November 2008 Christ has been the top player at TSV Graefelfing in the second Bundesliga South .

Career

In 1988 Nico Christ started playing table tennis in his home club VfL Dettenhausen. His talent was discovered and promoted by the association youth warden Dieter Kunze. Christ later joined the TTC Metabo Frickenhausen club , and in 1998 he moved to the second division for TSV Maxell Sontheim . Further stations were TTC Karlsruhe-Neureut (2001–2002), TTC Elz (2002–2003), ESV Jahn Kassel (2003–2005), TSV Graefelfing (2005–2011) and finally the TV Hilpoltstein.

Style of play

Nico Christ is right-handed and plays with the shakehand stick position . Above all, his playing strengths include playing over the table, followed by uncompromising forehand attacking play. He currently uses the blade "Holycrown" from the Butterfly company. The Omega IV Pro from Xiom is used on the forehand. On the backhand, Nico Christ uses the Target Ultim from Cornelliau. He also acts as an advertising medium for an online mail order company.

Private

Nico Christ lives and trains in Karlsruhe , where he also studies physics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology . His studies also enabled him to take part in the Universiade in Bangkok in 2007 by winning the bronze medal in the team competition. He has two sisters, of whom Stine, who is two years his junior, is a regional league player in table tennis.
