Hans-Joachim Nolten

Hans-Joachim "Hajo" Nolten [born June 8, 1959 in Wassenberg (North Rhine-Westphalia)] is a German table tennis player . He was German champion in doubles and seven-time German team champion with Borussia Düsseldorf .

youth

Nolten achieved numerous successes in his youth. Together with Ralf Wosik, he became vice European champion in doubles in 1975.

In 1976, Nolten spent three months in Sweden for training purposes.

Adult national

At the national German championships he usually played doubles with Ralf Wosik . Together with him he became German champion in 1980. 1978, 1979 and 1981 both reached the final together. At the national ranking tournament Nolten in 1979 of third parties.

From 1973 to 1981 he played for Borussia Düsseldorf , with whom he was German champion seven times: 1974, 1975, 1978 to 1982. In addition, Nolten won the German Cup with Düsseldorf in 1975, 1978 and 1979.

In 1982 he left Borussia Düsseldorf because there he had no opportunity to play in the upper pair cross. Subsequently, Nolten played for the clubs TTC Grünweiß Bad Hamm (1982/83), TuS Vahr-Bremen (1983/84), BG Steiner-Optik Bayreuth (1984-1987), TTC Jülich (1987-1989), Post SV Telekom Mülheim (1989–1991), TTF Bad Honnef (1991–1997) and TTC RW Gierath (Association League, from 1997). At the same time, he worked as a trainer at TTC Jülich from 1991.

In 1979 he was ranked 6th in the national ranking.

Adults international

From 1976 to 1981 Nolten played 18 international matches. He was first used on February 24, 1976 in Hamburg against China, where he lost both of his games. He was nominated for participation in world championships in 1979 and 1981 . In 1978 he competed in the individual competitions of the European Championship .

Private

Nolten trained as a tax advisor. Since 1999 he has been working as a controller at the table tennis company Butterfly . In July 1990 he married the table tennis player Margit Freiberg , with whom he has two children. The former table tennis player Katja Nolten is Hajo Nolten's sister.
