TTC Grünweiß Bad Hamm
The TTC Grünweiß Bad Hamm is a German table tennis club from Hamm , which played in the Bundesliga in the 1970s and 1980s .
history
In 1957, the table tennis department of the DJK Arminia Hamm left the club and founded their own club, DJK Grünweiß Bad Hamm . Two years later, the table tennis department of ESV Hamm joined the club. Since 1959, the team played with three annual breaks in the league. In 1974 the association was renamed TTC Grünweiß Bad Hamm .
After several promotions and relegations, he made the leap to the Bundesliga in 1976 . The team strengthened itself through Bernt Jansen and maintained the league in the line-up of Jansen, Hans-Dieter Hoffmann (formerly TTV Metelen ), Elmar Schneider (formerly Meidericher TTC ), Dieter Ristic (formerly VfL Osnabrück), Heinz-Günter Hoffmann (formerly TTV Metelen) ), Udo Lang and Peter Schrimpf.
The best placement reached Hamm in the 1982/83 season with rank 5. At the end of the 1984/85 season, the club had to relegate, but returned a year later to the 1st BL. He stayed there for three years before relegating again in 1989. At the end of the 1997/98 season, the club withdrew the team from the Bundesliga to the regional league due to a lack of support from the environment.
In the 2006/07 season, Hamm played in the Regionalliga and rose to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2009. After several relegations and promotions, Hamm reached the 2nd Bundesliga again in 2017.
The club was shaped for many years by the Vatheuer family. Senior teacher Theo Vatheuer began in 1961 as chairman and manager, his brothers Raymund, Helmut and Wolfgang as well as the following generation Martin (* 1969) and Matthias (* 1967) played in the team.
