Margit Freiberg

Margit Freiberg (born May 4, 1962 in Cloppenburg ) is a German table tennis player who was one of the best players in Germany in the 1980s.

National career

Freiberg began her career with the clubs TSV Großhansdorf and TSV Ahrensburg (1966/77). In 1977 she joined TSV Kronshagen , with whose women's team she became German team champion in 1979. In 1981 she moved to DSC Kaiserberg . Here she won the German team championship again in 1982 and 1984 and became German cup winners in 1982 and 1983. In 1984 she was ranked fifth in the national German ranking.

In 1987 she left the DSC Kaiserberg and won the German runner-up with the Reinickendorfer Füchsen . Freiberg then played in the clubs SC Bayer 05 Uerdingen (from 1990), TuS Holsterhausen (from 1994), Borussia Düsseldorf (Oberliga, from 2005), DJK Holzbüttgen (from 2009) and TTC Fritzdorf (from 2013).

Freiberg was often at the forefront of the national German championships :

International

Freiberg played eight international matches. In 1986 she was nominated for the individual competitions of the European Championship . A year later she took part in the 1987 World Cup. Here she reached place 14 with the German team. In the individual, she qualified for the main round, where she lost to the Chinese Chen Zihe . In doubles with Ilka Böhning, the later winners of the bronze medal He Zhili / Jiao Zhimin (China) lost. The mixed with Jürgen Rebel did not survive the qualifying round.

Private

In July 1990 Freiberg married the German table tennis international Hajo Nolten . and then appeared under the name Freiberg-Nolten . She has two children. Their children are called Gerrit and Nils Nolten.
