Jin-Sook Cords (birth name Lee Jin-sook , born April 30, 1963 in Seoul ) is a German table tennis player from South Korea . She won the German championship in doubles three times .
Life
Lee Jin-sook was born in Seoul. In 1993 she finished third at the Japanese Open Championships. Until 1984 she was a Korean national player. At the end of 1984 the penholder player moved to Germany and joined the FTG Frankfurt club . In February of the same year she married the German Uwe Cords. In July 1987 she received German citizenship. She has a son and a daughter. The family lives in Henstedt-Ulzburg . From 2015 Cords worked for several years as a trainer in the table tennis youth department of SV Henstedt-Ulzburg .
Success in Germany
At the national German championships in 1990, 1991 and 1994 she won the title in double competition together with Cornelia Faltermaier . In 1989 she was runner-up in singles (behind Nicole Struse ). She won mixed with Georg Böhm in 1990.
She was German team champion in 1986 with FTG Frankfurt and in 1989, 1990 and 1991 with Spvg Steinhagen .
From 1988 to 1989 she was a member of the national team and played four international matches. She was nominated for the European Championship in 1988 and the World Championship in 1989 . She then resigned from the national team for professional reasons - she works for Lufthansa.
Since 2002 she has been playing in the Kaltenkirchener Turnerschaft, first in the second division, and today (2013) in the regional league.
